WRITER/EDITOR WORKSHOP

Catalog description

A workshop approach to writing, in which students find and develop their own themes for writing using in-class exercises and peer group response to produce a portfolio of essays, short stories, and journalistic feature articles, all based on individual interests. We will also emphasize the art of editing, as students offer and receive criticism of their written drafts. In addition, we will discuss copy-editing techniques and review the rules governing standard written English.
