SPIRITUAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Stockton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Writing course (W1).Throughout the western tradition, people have written about their spiritual journeying and transformation. These narratives, which can be grouped and recognized within the broad form of "spiritual autobiography," have power both as literary works and as tools to help us recognize and pursue the stories and visions of our own lives. Reading a selection of these works, we will examine: rhetorical and literary issues encountered in autobiography; religious, social, and psychological issues addressed by writers; different renderings of the spiritual and of lives lived with intention; the rewards and challenges of writing from one's own life.Faculty: P. DUGAN
