MILITARY OCCUPATION/SOC CHANGE

Catalog description

This course examines historical and contemporary examples of military occupations aimed at bringing about revolutionary changes in foreign countries. The military occupations to be examined begin with the Napoleonic wars and include imperial projects in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as well as the occupations of Japan and Germany after World War II. These historical examples will be compared with the more recent American-led occupation of Iraq.Faculty: M. HAYSE
