Catalog description

Addressing contemporary art and culture in the globalized world, this course investigates art as a strategy of engagement with issues of human displacement. Course materials will unpack how national identity, global/local tensions, and post-colonial narratives are connected to the human migration as subject matter in contemporary fine, popular, and propaganda art.
