Catalog description

This course will investigate philosophical, ethical, mythological and literary issues within the Guillermo del Toro film Frankenstein (2025). Themes include immortality, death, faith, love, the fantastic, and meta-themes, such as popular culture and the humanities, film as philosophy, and the philosophy of mythology. We will also read Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein as well as parts of Milton's Paradise Lost.
