Catalog description

Arts course (A).This class is designed to give students an in-depth exposure to jazz, its history and its relationship to historical and social events that surround it. We will explore its relationship to visual arts and other performing arts as well. The student will be provided with the fundamental knowledge necessary to intelligently analyze a jazz performance or composition. The course will give the student a new perspective on 20th century history, music, and art. The class is presented with audio, video and live performances when possible.Faculty: STAFF
