Catalog description

The course encompasses the basic elements of pre-planning, photography, cinematography and image sequencing. Covered are all camera functions, depth of field, motion, lighting, color, narrative, structure and composition. This course examines the theoretical and practical application of the production process. Students gain field experience in lighting, filming, and audio recording and also assume various roles on the production team. Camera shoots in the field are conducted at a variety of locations, encompassing as many different environments as possible. Beyond camera, lighting, audio and editing exercises, each student will create one silent and one sound film of their own design.
