Catalog description

This course will further explore the theory, operation, and application of Global Position System (GPS) technologies. This is a continuation from the Global Positioning Systems for Geographic Information Systems ENVL 4622 course. In this course a more detailed examination of the use and applications of the GPS technologies will be undertaken. This will include exploring precise data collection of GIS data using mapping grade GPS equipment and high accuracy Real-Time Kinematic GPS systems and data acquisition. This course will include advanced mapping and data processing techniques including proper field collection methodologies, proper field documentation methods, map production and data electronic data distribution preparation and production.
