ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS

Catalog description

The tools of economics such as demand and supply, cost-benefit analysis, cost theory, and marginal pricing will be applied to environmental concerns such as pollution, economic growth, and policy tradeoffs. We will examine the environmental successes and failures of the market system in the United States as well as other parts of the globe in this introductory course. Current controversies such as deep ecology vs. eco-realism will also be discussed. Cross-listed as ECON 2245.
