Catalog description

Introduction to the effects of toxic substances in the environment with a focus on the work and living space. The class looks at the nature, movement, reactivity and target organs of toxic substances. Some analytical techniques for select groups of toxics and their metabolic pathways will also be considered. However, most of the class will focus on risk assessment and classification, fate, transport, absorption and organ toxicity. Prerequisites: ENVL 2100 AND ENVL 2200 AND ENVL 2400 AND ENVL 2600 with a grade of C or better; AND CHEM 2110 with a grade of C or better.
