Catalog description

Designed primarily for PSM graduate students and advanced undergraduates, this course provides an overview of current issues related to ocean sustainability. Major topics covered will include the state of the world's fishery resources, the ocean's critical role as a moderator of climate change, ocean acidification, and pollution. Emphasis will be placed on reading and evaluating the current scientific literature relative to these topics - as well as how this research is covered by the popular media. Special issues related to New Jersey's coastal zone will be addressed via field trips.Faculty: M. SULLIVAN
