Catalog description

This course is intended for prospective elementary school teachers and will examine mathematics content in the K-8 curriculum with a focus on data collection, organization, presentation, and analysis. Core themes include reasoning, representation, problem solving, and making mathematical connections. The course emphasizes mathematics as a coherent and interconnected discipline rather than a series of isolated facts or procedures.
