Catalog description

Communicating effectively depends crucially on clearly identifying audience and context. Learning the craft of developing an engaging narrative with audience and context in mind by selecting data, distilling an analysis to its essence, and creating illustrative visualizations is the primary goal of this course. Students will have abundant opportunities to demonstrate the ability to effectively convey the message in a dataset through oral presentations, interactive media, and written reports that inform, persuade, and inspire action. Interested students in programs other than DSSA should contact the instructor for permission to register.
