MODERN DANCE II

Catalog description

Prerequisite: DANC 2101 with a grade of C or better and Permission of Instructor. Open only to Theatre, Music, and Dance majors and minors. Course continues training from Modern Dance I, further expanding the concepts of modern dance technique, focusing on clarity of movement initiation, body articulation, usage of weight, breath and musical phrasing, isolations, and drive through space. Course work includes placing technique in historical and contemporary context. May be repeated seven times for credit.
