BEGINNING JAZZ DANCE

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Not open to Dance, Music, and Theatre majors and minors. Beginning Jazz Dance introduces students to musicality, improvisation, technique, and individuality. Class includes warm-up, stretch/conditioning, across the floor, and center phrase work. Students will hone in on rhythm,coordination, core balance, and strength training, and will watch footage and write reflections on dancers/choreographers who embody Jazz forms.
