Catalog description

Prerequisite: CRIM 1100 and CRIM 2140 or CRIM 2141. Not open to students with credit for CRIM 3205.Permission of Instructor required.Writing course (W1).This course will involve a study of the techniques necessary for conducting legal research. Emphasis will be placed on writing legal documents such as memorandum of law and appellate briefs. We will examine the doctrine of "stare decisis" and the proper use and citation of authorities. We will also learn how to trace the legislative history of statutes and study the rules of construction.Faculty: A. GONZALEZ
