INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE

Catalog description

Prerequisites: MATH 1100 with a grade of C or better or Accuplacer score of 85 or higher. Formulating and refining computational models describing problems of scientific interest are the themes of this course. A computational model is formulated by translating a verbal description of the problem into a mathematical description and then implementing the mathematical model on a computer. Effective methods for presentation of computational results are an essential aspect of model assessment and will be developed as the course progresses.
