Catalog description

Introductory organic chemistry focuses on developing the framework needed to predict chemical reactivity of organic molecules based on structural features. Specific topics include: covalent bonding; acids and bases; identifying functional groups with infrared spectroscopy; organic nomenclature; conformational analysis; stereoisomerism; introduction to mechanism and organic reactions, such as substitution and elimination.
