Prerequisite: BIOL 1200, 1400 and 2110 This course examines the influence of current environmental and dietary variables on the physiology and health of humans and other animals. The comparative approach to animal physiology is emphasized as we examine the primary literature for the scientific basis of current often controversial topics. We examine the disruption of homeostasis in an animal's physiology due to human-altered variables in the environment. Topics include colony bee collapse, endocrine disrupters, alterations to diet, and environmental pollution. Faculty: STAFF
