Catalog description

This course examines the economically valuable members of the plant kingdom including fungi, algae and higher plants. This survey includes food and agriculture, industrial feedstock, cloth and dye, plant based medicines, building materials psychoactive drugs and alternative fuels. The relationships of the economically useful products to the structure and function of the plant will also be explored. This course meets the ecology (plant) requirement for BIOL major.
