Catalog description
Prerequisite: ARTV 1161 or ARTV 1162. This course focuses on the fundamental practice of creating sequential art from the comic strip through the graphic novel. A series of hands on projects, readings and critiques develop technique and theory of visual story telling. A series of projects culminate in a six page comic. These include building blocks, word and image in strip format, penciling, figure drawing, lettering, inking, structuring the story, character development, and setting the stage.
