Catalog description

Prerequisite: Students must provide a digital camera with manually adjustable aperture, shutter, and focus. Not open to students with credit for ARTV 1130 or ARTV 2321 .The course will introduce students to the basic principles of the medium and the use of photography as a fine art and visual language. The quantitative content includes an introduction to sensitometry (exposure), and optics (aperture and focus) in photography. Various applications will be used to edit images and acquire an understanding of color theory, image resolution, and proportions. All course work will be submitted and reviewed online using Blackboard.
