Catalog description

Prerequsite: Must be proficient in reading in both treble and bass clefs.The purpose of Fundamentals of Conducting is to acquaint students with the craft of conducting. Topics will include the conductor’s role, posture, baton grip, baton technique, left-hand technique, knowledge of clefs and instrumental transpositions, and familiarity with the layout of a musical score. Students will also gain insight into what one may encounter when working under a conductor.<i>Faculty: C. DI SANTO</i>
