Catalog description
This course will study the diversity of the circum-Caribbean area from a cultural-historical perspective. The art, music, language and ritual traditions of this area will all be examined. Particular attention will be paid to the problems of colonialism, ethnicity, and post-colonial development in the major island nations- Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico and Cuba.
