Catalog description

Not open to freshmen.International/multicultural course (I).This course is about anthropological concept of ethnicity, and the practice and experience of ethnicity in a variety of cultural and social settings. Topics include: theories of ethnicity, ethnic identity, ethnic group membership, adaptation to dominant cultures, and symbolic expression in the arts. Students will be required to conduct fieldwork and write a life history of an individual focusing on ethnic experience.Faculty: J. RUBENSTEIN, L. GREENE
