VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY

Catalog description

This seminar will study the visual representation of society and culture. Students will be expected to analyze both contemporary and historical visual forms. These include film, television, and photography, as well as such traditional forms as cave painting, sand painting, and tattoo. In addition, students will produce short and extended visual essays on society and culture which will be presented in class. Students are required to have their own digital cameras.
