HUMAN BIO & EVOLUTION

Catalog description

This course presents aspects of human biology that make us unique as a species, yet varied as individuals. Genetics, physiology, immunology, and anatomy of modern humans will be presented. Comparisons of modern humans and living primate behavior will be discussed. Evolutionary theory, geological time, and an overview of human fossils and prehistoric archaeology will trace our evolution as hominins over time. This course is not open to freshmen; a college level biology (such as BIOL 1100 or 1200) or introduction to anthropology (ANTH 1100) strongly recommended as a prerequisite.
