Catalog description

The course will examine the progress that South Africa has made towards eliminating poverty and promoting sustainable development since the end of apartheid in 1994 from both a national and rural perspective. Critical issues as to education, health, food security, economic opportunity, environmental management and social cohesion will be examined. Particular attention will be given to the role that school community partnerships can play in development.
