Catalog description

This course offers an examination of the African American historical experience from the perspective of the African Americans as contributors, builders and shapers of American culture. Emphasis is placed on centering the narrative of the past from the African American point of view, highlighting their contributions to social, economic and political structures which assisted in their ability to survive and thrive in America.
