U.S. Foreign Aid: Politics, Practice, and Reform

Catalog description

Through a series of guest speakers and class discussions, this one-unit course introduces students to the major types of U.S. foreign aid - from democracy assistance to global health to philanthropy - and explores how these programs have evolved over time. Particular attention will be given to how policy shifts under the current administration have shaped U.S. aid priorities and the global aid landscape. The course culminates in a collaborative policy statement on the future of U.S. foreign aid, which will be presented virtually to staffers of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
