Human Rights, Information Integrity, and Democratic Values in a Digitized World

Catalog description

Through weekly readings and select speakers, this course seeks to reinforce existing frameworks of international human rights law in a global digital context and to counter the erosion of trust that is exacerbated online. Students will engage with materials written by technologists and policy experts on issues like internet fragmentation, digital surveillance, disinformation, governance, and data protection. This weekly seminar is coordinated by the Stanford Global Digital Policy Incubator to present the policy challenges of defending human rights, information integrity, and democratic values in an increasingly digitized world.
