Catalog description

This 1-unit course is designed for medical trainees from all backgrounds who wish to develop a strong foundation in personal finance throughout medical school, residency, and beyond. The curriculum covers essential topics such as the fundamentals of investing, understanding the tax system, and creating a personalized investment strategy to promote long-term financial wellness.Sessions will feature licensed financial professionals and advisors with experience guiding medical trainees, ensuring participants gain practical knowledge in maximizing benefits, evaluating investment options, and exploring strategies for financing medical education. Students will participate in weekly small-group seminars followed by individualized exercises designed to help them build a personalized financial plan and investment portfolio well before residency begins.
