Catalog description

Exploration of the city of Madrid through the works of canonical and less-canonical Spanish-language authors and the films of Almodovar, Amenabar, Leon de Aranoa, etc. This course maps Madrid's many lives on the page and on the screen, from the 19th through the 21st centuries, paying attention to representations of class, gender, migration, memory and urban landscape. Taught in Spanish.
