Human Rights Policy Practicum

Catalog description

Human Rights Policy Practicums offer supervised field, community, or lab experience that may entail working with governmental agencies, legislative bodies, or nonprofit organizations engaged in social service work, human rights accountability efforts, advocacy, documentation, or protection initiatives in local, national, or international context. One unit represents approximately three hours work per week. May be repeated for credit. Offerings will vary year to year and may not be consistently offered every quarter, as practicums depend on the availability and needs of community partner organizations. Admission to a policy practicum is by consent of the instructor. Open to graduate students as well as undergraduates. HUMRTS 101 strongly recommended prior to enrollment in a Human Rights Policy Practicum.
