Women in Leadership: The Power of You

All leaders face a host of challenges, but research shows women leaders encounter an additional set of obstacles and considerations - institutional, social, economic, cultural, familial, etc. Women from other underrepresented groups face these added challenges particularly acutely. Women in Leadership: The Power of You will equip you with research-based strategies, tools and tactics to not only meet these workplace issues head-on, but also improve processes, policies and cultures for the future. The course is based on the instructor's `meaningful leadership' model that will inspire you to create a deeply meaningful path for your leadership journey and empower others, creating a renewable cycle of generosity, access and impact. Through readings, discussions and written reflections, you will explore topics including, but not limited to: the likeability paradox; developing your voice and professional narrative; negotiation through a gender lens; family, relationships and career; leadership styles and adaptivity; mentorship and sponsorship; resilience, self-care and self-compassion; and living generously. You will also write a 'Meaningful Leadership Action Plan,' which will articulate how you aspire to lead going forward.
