Year-long seminar primarily for 1st-year genetic counseling students. Spring: This course will focus on honing students' counseling skills, taking into account the wide variety of ways that people approach the emotions and questions generated by chronic conditions or receiving a genetic diagnosis. Various counseling and communication theories, models, and therapies will be applied.
