Catalog description

For genetic counseling students, graduate students in genetics, medical students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows interested in the practice of medical genetics and genomics. In this survey course, many aspects of human molecular genetics, cytogenetics and emerging technologies will be introduced. Topics include molecular genetics principles, cytogenetics principles, DNA damage and repair, genetic disease mechanisms, variant interpretation, gene therapy, stem cell biology, and pharmacogenetics. Undergraduates require consent of instructor and a basic genetics course. Non-GC students: Please contact the instructor when you enroll.
