GEN 7365
Precision Health & Wellbeing
Stanford University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Precision Health Promotion enables people to increase control over and improve their health through individualized, precise, and actionable tools, directed toward the World Health Organization's definition of health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. The course introduces the principles that guide this work: salutogenesis rather than pathogenesis, proactive rather than reactive intervention, self-care rather than therapy, biopsychosocial rather than purely biomedical integration; alongside the methods drawn from precision medicine: N-of-1 individualization, measurable micro-progression, and actionable data. Students will experience and practice evidence-based exercises, applying them directly to personal experience to build healthspan, positive mental health, and resilience. The course integrates data and insights from Stanford-based studies to illustrate real-world applications of precision health and well-being.
