Taking its name from bell hooks feminist primer, this course offers an accessible introduction to feminist thinking and movements. Starting from the foundational question "What is feminism?" we will explore common misconceptions about feminism, what it means for feminism to be "intersectional," and contemporary issues that are driving feminist movements around the globe. By engaging with a variety of feminist perspectives in weekly discussions, we will build collaborative skills grounded in working together across difference and practicing self-reflection. Open to all students.
