Catalog description

This graduate workshop will help students to generate projects in the study of contemporary online and digital popular arts and entertainments. Methods of study include literary-critical, art-historical, social-scientific, and journalistic-memoiristic approaches. Traditions in reception study, media study, and introspective aesthetics will all be considered. As well as a methods course, select recent examples of criticism will be anatomized. The weight of the course, however, will be on developing and initiating projects of one's "own" individually or in collaborative teams.
