Catalog description
The class will introduce graduate students to the fundamental methodologies of cultural studies and cultural critique, through foundational texts in these traditions as well as recent exemplary instances. Traditions may include Frankfurt School, Birmingham School, and Chicago School sociology, as well as idiosyncratic US practitioners such from Susan Sontag and Leslie Fiedler to Andrea Long Chu.
