Stanford University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
An innovative interdisciplinary field now translates neuroscientific research into design principles to enhance the performance, health, and wellbeing of clinicians and those they serve. Lecturers discuss how built environments impact cognitive and physical function, including focus, teamwork, mental health, and burnout. The needs of neurodiverse and neurotypical users, as well as those with disease or infirmity are considered. Class activities apply design thinking and user experience tools. Final projects describe or illustrate solutions for places where clinicians work, learn, rest, or socialize.
