Catalog description

This graduate-level advanced methods course focuses on the epistemological underpinnings, forms, techniques, ethics, and analysis of interviews, one of the core methods of qualitative inquiry. In particular, the course focuses on interview methods meant for ethnography, narrative inquiry, case study, and community-engaged research. Students will learn how to design, conduct, and analyze studies that incorporate in-depth qualitative interviews. The course is most appropriate for those who have previously taken at least one qualitative methods course and/or have applied experience in these methodologies.
