The Higher Education Workshop and Reading Group is a professional development course for students interested in and/or conducting research in higher education. Co-led by two faculty members, the workshop offers professional development training for future researchers and faculty members. Topics will vary but may include: Reviewing scholarly papers; constructing CVs; applying for research grants; preparing for and managing a faculty job search; pursuing book contracts; and preparing scholarly talks and lectures. Students will also have opportunities to workshop ideas and research-in-progress, as well as practice scholarly presentations. We will also have occasional guest researchers present their work to the workshop. The workshop is open to master's and doctoral students, and with instructor approval, undergraduates working on theses and senior papers.
