A thematic discussion of the economic history of the United States, with emphasis on the perspective it gives on modern-day economic and social issues. Topics will include economic growth, government intervention in the economy, economic causes and consequences of slavery, immigration, women's changing role in the economy, income inequality, and economic mobility.
