Leading From Idea To Implementation

Catalog description

This very interactive course, including workshops, case studies, and projects, presents a scaffolding of skills that all aspiring leaders need, including how to frame and reframe problems, work with diverse stakeholders to address a challenge, and make ethical decisions that are consistent with your values. Whether you are leading a local community effort, a for-profit venture, or a global initiative, every effective leader needs the knowledge, skills, mindset, and values to bring bold ideas to fruition. This includes understanding how to develop a vision, to see problems as opportunities, and recover from inevitable failures. As part of the course, each student will apply these skills in leading in their own life and projects they are working on outside of the course. This course is jointly offered by the Design Program and Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford for these communities.
