GEN 4465
Design for Health Equity
Stanford University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The health care system is not particularly healthy nor caring, nor much of a system. What if you could help redesign healthcare and health-adjacent systems to work for all of us? In this course, students will collaborate with patients and their caregivers, many from underserved communities, to reimagine the future systems that better serve their needs. Blending co-design, digital product design, and foundational AI, you'll tackle the complex intersections of chronic illness, health policy, and social well-being to create solutions that deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Working in teams alongside clinicians, community leaders, and technologists, you will design, prototype, and test concepts grounded in the real worlds of those you serve, all with the aim of making health care more just, accessible, and human.
