Catalog description

In this capstone course to the Data Science BA for the Artistic and Cultural Analysis subplan, students will work hands-on with faculty researchers to develop and assist in a project that brings together their knowledge in Data Science with the experience that they have gained applying it to artistic and cultural objects. In collaboration with the internship program at the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis, students will participate in a project that matches their interest and experience, producing concrete outcomes that may include, for example, a written analysis, an interactive visualization, a conference presentation, a digital collection, or a creative object made using data. As part of their internship, students will take part in required workshops and activities and they will produce and update progress reports on their activities.
