Catalog description

Theory is both a lens for understanding the world and a powerful force that transforms the world. This course overviews major social theories in the social sciences and humanities and analyzes their application to education. Theories include dialectical materialism, colonialism, racial capitalism, gender and social reproduction, hegemony, symbolic power, discourse and knowledge, queer theory, and agency and resistance.
