This course explores the architecture, art, and music of Hagia Sophia, the cathedral of Constantinople. This building presents the largest domed interior in the Mediterranean. The architecture while it evokes the Pantheon, surpasses the Roman precedents with its size, light, and acoustics. Employing an interdisciplinary approach this course teaches students how to work across teh fields of art and architectural history, acoustics, liturgy, music, and poetry
